Last evening, I returned from Bnei Brak (that’s for a another story)- on the train to Yerushalayim.
I sat next to two boys with tattoos and yarmulkes.
They were having a good time, playing on their phones and laughing.
I engaged them in conversation and discovered that they were about to be drafted into the IDF and they were on their way to the Kosel for Selichos- as Sefardim already began on Rosh Chodesh Elul.
Every night at midnight there is a large gathering for Selichos and Thursday night is even bigger.
They then turned to me and said in Hebrew, “HaRav, please teach us Torah!”
Here I was on a train heading to Yerushalayim filled with many young people on their way to Selichos and they are asking me to learn with them Torah!
Friends, these young men are holy Neshomos and we must daven and reach out to them.
They are thirsty for Torah and we must supply them with the thirst quenching water of Torah!
I wish all of you a Shabbat Shalom and Good Shabbos from Yerushalayim!
