Rabbi Eisenman

Last night I had the unique privilege of approaching the most holy place we know of in the world: the Makom HaMikdsh- the place from where Hashem created the world and decided to establish His abode there-

I was privileged to gain access to the Kosel HaMaaravi- the Western Wall.

As I approached the wall, unbeknownst to me at the time, a man who knew me, yet, respectfully, did not disturb me, photographed me without my realizing it.

As I stood by the hallowed walls dating back two thousand years, I poured out my Tefillos to Hashem and recited the names given to me from all of you who wrote to me and requested of me to beseech Hashem for your heartfelt desires and needs.

I then removed from my pocket a note, a “petek”, a “kvittel”- given to me by a littel boy from the Shul.

As I lovingly placed his personal petition between the cracks of the sanctified wall, I felt a sense of Kedusha, of privilege to be able to personally place the little boy’s heartfelt request in the crevices of the Kosel.

At that moment, a feeling of closeness to Him enveloped me in a way I have not experienced before.

I felt an overwhelming desire to express in the only humanly way known to me my feelings of love to He who has brought me to His home.

I feel extremely humbled by the undeserved privilege to be able to fulfill the many requests for Tefillah that I received and to place the little boy’s note in the Wall.

And, I feel honored of being able to express my love unabashedly to He who makes dreams come true!
