So Hard to Leave…..

As the realization took hold that in just a few short hours my flight is due to take off and I will be leaving the Land of Israel a sadness gripped me.

Here I am, having the Zechus to spend time in the Land that Moshe Rabbeinu pined to step foot in, yet, was never allowed to enter, and, I am here, yet, I am leaving.

I am not being exiled from my land nor is a foreign conqueror occupying the Land.

No, none of that is occurring, I am leaving the land under my own volition.

And that causes me a degree of sadness…

How do I leave the land of Hashem?

How does one leave the land of OUR people?

I have no answer.

However, I am filled with gratitude to Hashem for allowing to have been here this past week.

May we all be privileged to return very soon….
