Rabbi Eisenman

This morning I was privileged to do something that even Moshe Rabbeinu was not Zocheh to fulfill.

I davened Vasikin at the Churva Shul just a few hundred yards from where the Beis HaMikdash stood. The davening was something I have never experienced in my life, as they sang the entire Hallel. Over two hundred voices joined together in unison in singing praises to HaShem.

After davening, I was taken to the roof of the Shul where one can see the place of the future Beis HaMikdash. Why was I privileged to see such an amazing sight? I don’t know, however, I am full of appreciation and gratitude to HaShem for allowing me to be here!

This is the first time in forty years that I have been given the zechus to be present in Yerushalayim for Chanukah. Two thousand years ago when the Chasmonaim defeated the Greeks, who could have imagined that in the exact place where the miracle occurred, tens of thousands of Jews would flock to celebrate the miracle! The lights off Chanukah shine brightly and will continue to shine until Mashiach.

May he come speedily in our times!
