Rabbi Eisenman

Chanukah is a time for learning Torah, family get-togethers, and lighting the Chanukah lights in the best Halachik way possible.

Now you tell me, where is the best place on the planet Earth to fulfill all three of those goals?

Three guesses:

1.      No, it’s not Passaic. That was a good try, but it’s not the right answer.

2.      Boro Park was also a nice try. However, it, too, does not win the prize.

3.      Yerushalayim!!!! That’s right! You got it!

There is no Torah like Torah from Zion. When you have most of your grandchildren in Eretz Yisroel, what better place to get together with family than in Israel?

And where else can you light the Chanukah lights exactly as it says to do in the Gemara? Meaning, lighting outside and at the exact time- that’s right, Yerushalayim Ihr HaKodesh.

In just a few short hours, my wife and I, with Hashem’s help, are off to Eretz Yisroel. We will be IY”H spending Chanukah in Yerushalayim!

I’ll miss you all, and I wish you a healthy, wonderful, joyous Freilichen Chanukah!

I will be returning before Shabbos Parshas VaYigash.

All Shiurim will resume on Shabbos Parshas VaYigash (December 31), and weekdays classes will resume on Monday, January 2, 2023.

Wishing you only Brocha and Simcha
