The Short Vort- -“Siyum and Haschala (Ending and Beginning)” (6/4/10)

The Short Vort

Good Morning!

Today is Friday the 22nd of Sivan 5770 and June 4, 2010

Siyum and Haschala (Ending and Beginning)

This Shabbos is the Siyum of Massechta Sanhedrin and on Sunday at 8 am we will begin Massechta Makkos.

All men who are interested in learning should come to the Daf this Sunday 8 am.

The entire Massechta is only 25 blatt; so in just over three weeks you can finish a Massechta!

Therefore on Shabbos immediately before making Kiddush we will have the Hadran (completion) of Massechta Sanhedrin.

This is how the Torah life cycle is; right after finishing one Massechta, we begin the next one.

This is the reason when we finish davening; we begin to daven again by again saying Adon Olam.

This is the reason when we finish Devarim on Simchas Torah, we begin Bereishis immediately.

This is the life of a Torah Jew; we are never finished in our task.

We just complete one aspect of the cycle and begin the next.

Have a wonderful Shabbos.

Remember Pirkei Avos for men and women at 6:35 pm!
